Wikipedia Asian Month is recuriting volunteers for its International Team

2018 Wikipedia Asian Month is approaching! It is the 4th edition of the Wikipedia Asian Month, which is arguably the world largest editing event on Wikipedia. WAM is hosted and supported by tens of Wikimedia Affiliates around the world. Don’t hesitate and send an Email to us to apply the volunteer position in the international team!

Basic Requirement:

  • Able to work in English Environment, expect to read, communicate and write in English
  • Has a good knowledge of Wikipedia, online/ offline event hosting or PR
  • Time Commitment: at least 5 hours/ week from Oct. to Dec.; Around 8 hours/ month prior and after this period

Language Exceptions:  If you can read this article with no problem and consider yourself to have moderate English skills (just not enough to fully work in English), you can still apply if you speak following languages native: Chinese, Odia. (In the waitlist)

What you will achieve:

  • Experience and skill building of International Cooperation, Event Organization, and many others
  • Get more involved with the Wikipedians all around the world
  • Special souvenirs of Wikipedia and Wikipedia Asian Month
  • Volunteer certificate will be provided on demand (if you fulfill the minimum requirement of your position)

Positions include: Community Liaison, Data Collection/ Analysis, Community Outreach, Media & Press, Software Development and etc.
